We're Jamie & Karen, a husband and wife team with a shared passion for nature, learning, and the incredible world of solitary bees. Jamie invented and hand-crafts each BeeLife Box from solid oak, including the original standard bee box and his UK patent-pending modular design, both featuring a unique little door that lets you safely peek inside and watch solitary bees as they build, lay eggs, seal their chambers, and develop through their full life cycle.
While Jamie works his magic in the workshop, Karen keeps everything running behind the scenes, from assembling orders and packing each box with care, to handling the admin, dispatch, and shipping that gets your BeeLife Box safely to your door. Every order is a true team effort.
BeeLife Box is handcrafted - each box is individually hand-crafted by Jamie with help from Karen, taking several hours to make. What makes this even more remarkable is that Jamie and Karen run this alongside their existing business, driven purely by their passion for solitary bees and nature education. With demand already growing and a buzz of excitement building in the beekeeping community, we're thrilled that so many people share our passion. Our Story
We created the BeeLife Box because we wanted to bring the magic of solitary bees into everyday life. Watching these gentle pollinators build their nests, store pollen, and transform from egg to adult is one of nature's most fascinating processes - yet most people never get to see it.
Traditional bee hotels hide all the action. We wanted to change that.
So Jamie invented a modular, safe, and educational observation system, now UK patent-pending, that lets anyone, families, schools, nature groups, homeschoolers, and gardeners observe the bee life cycle up close, without disturbing the bees.
Every box is hand-crafted from oak with care, built to last, and designed to inspire curiosity.
